I’d so buy the Civic Sport Hatch over the Si...it just looks better. Maybe one day...maybe

If only there’s a way to take the powertrain of an Si / Type-R and shove it in an ILX.

I think they both look good.

After seeing a few Si sedans i’d rather have the hatch too, but I’d take an Si coupe over either.

Type R swap probably wouldn’t be too hard, they’re both K-series engines.

Yeah this is where I’m at too, it’s on my shortlist of next cars. Don’t like the wing on the coupe but I can always do something about that down the road. Main thing for me honestly is being able to get some bells and whistles with a stick, heated seats, upgraded stereo etc. And the adaptive suspension.

I parked my Si next to the newest coupe, I’m not a fan of the looks

Yeah, the main thing for me with the Si over the base hatch is the LSD and upgraded suspension.

In a perfect world, they’d offer the hatch with the LSD and upgraded suspension and then you could just get a tune to Si specs on the engine. Alas.

I think it’s a different turbo at least too, I don’t think it’s just a tune. I prefer a hatch but I like the styling of the coupe and it’s still way more practical than my miata but mostly it checks all my boxes, decent performance, upgraded stereo, heated seats, sunroof.

I did testdrive a Civic hatch yesterday and I gotta say it left a rather good impression. The cvt was garbage though and the steering numb.

I’m waiting for someone to start talking crap about British car build quality, etc... what with the hatchback being built in Swindon, England.

I have to say, after my initial shock horror reaction, I’ve come around on this Civic for the most part. The one detail I still can’t stand is that back bumper. Thanks to the stupid fake vents, there’s more black plastic than body color.

We got the EP3 hatch over here and I’ve never heard any complaints about build quality on those.

Same, i still think the rear is way too busy but it’s overall less horrible than the Si
